“Apple Skin” also called 「Apple Peel」, manufactured by Yosion Technology a mainland manufactory. It becomes famous recently. What is “Apple Skin”? It is an accessory to improve the capacity of iPod Touch series product. After using it, iPod Touch becomes a phone like iPhone.People can use it to phone others and provide GPS function. It costs about HK$ 500 only and iPhone is costs over HK$ 6,000. Most of iPod Touch users think that it is a nonesuch.

Most of the people believe that “Apple Skin” is a counterfeit iPhone. But I don't think so, I think it is just like other accessories, such as iPhone speaker, iPhone chargers and cases, etc. I think “Apple Skin” is quite creative because it helps users to reduce cost and have same functions like iPhone.
A lot of people worry about that the Apple Skin would affect the sales of iPhone. I don’t think so. If people want and also have ability to buy an iPhone, they wouldn’t use the Apple Skin instead of iPhone. People who want but have no ability to buy an iPhone, they may buy an iPod touch and Apple Skin. Therefore, both companies can earn profit.
How this idea occur?
Firstly, this great idea comes from some special simulation such as digital camera’s camera lens. As we know, if the camera install another camera lens can improve its capacity. This is the same elements as “Apple Skin”. The creators observed the things around them and simulate they occur this wonderful idea, they learning from their daily life.
Secondly, it may learn from imitation. As we mention before, “Apple Skin” provide similar functions like iPhone and also the outlook quiet similar to iPhone too. “Apple Skin” is an imitation to Apple Store’s iPhone. Some idea maybe not the own but the techniques and components are owns. This product being successful is relies creators’ intellect.

Attractive opening! Just wonder why people relate the product with apple skin (usually they are useless)... what about onion skin?

And I like the last paragraph ... when we discuss about learning, we have to consider the originality of the ideas, growth and propogation of it, and possibility to utilize the idea to generate more new thoughts. If the products can really add value / make good use of the limited resources --> good! However, we have to balance whether we produce the goods in an ethical way.
