Steve Jobs, known as the CEO of Apple Inc. became so famous after the invention of mobile devices including iPod, iPhone and iPad. Apple Inc. was initially best-known for its computer hardware, Macintosh. However, during the past decade, the company has expanded its business to mobile electronic devices which not only brought Apple to the peak, but also changed the way the world listen to music, use the phone or even access the App platform.
Why is it so successful?
Why is it so successful?
The phenomenal success is hard to be explained in simple words. If I use the Bloom’s Taxonomy to explain this briefly, I can say that Steve Jobs have done a lot of work in analyzing, evaluating and creating their products. Despite his success, Steve Jobs was not a graduate, he only enrolled Reed College for around 1 year and dropped out. He probably obtained most of the knowledge, understanding and application as an amateur or in his working years. From an article he has mentioned in the years which he dropped out of school, he took a calligraphy class as he was quite interested in it. He thought what he learnt is something that will never apply to his life until 10 years later where he had to design his first Macintosh, everything seemed to pop out and he designed everything from what he have learnt.
In the market of mobile phones, competition is keen but Apple seems to be quite confident in making iPhone successful. The reason is the company has highly focused on analyzing customer needs. Even Steve Jobs as a customer found it frustrating in using other brands’ mobile devices. Therefore they understand and analyze the importance of internet, user-friendly, efficiency, and design. They evaluate through product checking, quality control and experiments to make arrangements and finally created a phone with good functions including providing app stores, touch monitors, quick internet access , stylish designs etc. The reolutionary phone has diffrentiate Apple from their competitors, people are willing to pay more to buy a muti-functional and great looking phone.
In fact, I think another reason for the achievement is being innovative. Especially in the tech industry, technology is changing every single day. Knowledge has to be updated in order to survive in this business. Therefore I see Bloom’s Taxonomy as a cycle rather than just a 1 way path under this industry. Just like the generations of iPhone, every new iPhone has some functions added to the previous one. The company has to keep doing research, inventing new programs, creating new designs and evaluating in order to survive.

Steve Jobs was elected as the best CEO / most valuable CEO in 2010. I really think he is talented with lots of visions to leverage organizational performance.
ReplyDeleteBloom's taxonomy - could incorporate a diagram (be self-explanatory) --> we could understand why you think he states at higher order.
And the discussion about his success --> NOT indepth. You may tell us more in Part II? Or any commonalities among those TOP CEOs (using the Blooms' Lens?)
The CEO of Apple Inc. has a successful experience in Apple revolution, but the introduction of him in the article is a bit long. Your group has thought the reason of the success of Apple, which is innovative. Moreover, how about the analyzing, evaluating levels of Apple in the Bloom’s Taxonomy , can you explain more details in these two levels that Apple do in these mental activities.
